A Message from Sarah Anker:
Thank you to the voters for re-electing me to the Suffolk County Legislature. We have accomplished so much together as a community, and I am looking forward to continuing my work for another 2-year term. I will prioritize addressing the opiate epidemic through prevention, education, rehabilitation and enforcement, eradicating gangs and violent crimes, protecting our environment and drinking water, and being fiscally responsible while finding sustainable ways to balance our county finances. We had a great victory yesterday, and I am so grateful for my team, the many volunteers, and labor unions who helped get me to the finish line.
Sarah Anker was elected to serve the people of Suffolk County's 6th Legislative District in a special election in March 2011, and was re-elected in November that same year for a full term. Sarah continues to fight for the health and safety of our community and our families. By prioritizing fiscal responsibility, community revitalization, and environmental conservation, she continues to be a strong leader in Suffolk County.
"It is an honor to serve the residents of the sixth district of Suffolk County. Together, we will work to improve quality of life by revitalizing our communities, balancing our county budget, and protecting our environment. I am committed to providing real results for our families."
~ Legislator Sarah Anker
Don't forget to turn your ballot over and VOTE NO on Proposition 1 next Tuesday, November 7th! This vote is extremely important and impacts ALL New Yorkers.
This proposition is a vote on whether or not to hold a State Constitutional Convention. Opening up the constitution would put worker's right and protections at risk, as well as impact pensions and the workers compensation program. The right to a free public education, state land and forest protections, nursing home oversight, and senior tax exemptions would be put in jeopardy.
Please join me in voting NO on Proposition 1 to hold a Constitutional Convention next Tuesday, November 7th. Don't forget, the proposition is on the back of the ballot.
